This research aims to describe users’ perception of the quality of circulation
services at the Library of St. Thomas Catholic University Medan. The study employs
a proportionate stratified random sampling approach. The research method used
is quantitative method, which utilizes numbers and statistics in data collections and
measurable data analysis. Data collection technique involves a questionnaire. The
collected data are primary data, gathered directly by the researcher. Data analysis
technique employs descriptive method to describe or depict the collected data as
they are, without intending to draw general conclusions. The results of this
reseaech show that the quality of circulation services at the Library of St. Thomas
Catholic University, in terms of reliability dimensions, majority (56%) rate the staff
as excellent in courtesy when providing circulation services; in responsiveness
dimensions, generally (82%) respondents rate the staff as excellent in
responsiveness and concern when answering questions related to circulation
services; in emphaty dimensions, majority (56%) rate the communication style of
the staff towards users in providing circuration services as excellent; in assurance
dimensions, majority (53%) rate the friendliness of the staff in providing circulation
services as excellent; in tangible dimension, majority (54%) rate the cleanliness
inside and outside the library premises as excellent. Thus, it can be concluded that
the quality of circulation services at the Library of St. Thomas Catholic University
Medan has met users’ expectations, indicating high satisfaction among users
towards the services provided.
