This study aims to explore the effect of school climate on bullying behavior with self-esteem as moderator variable in boarding school students, especially those in Medan city. There are 3 dimensions of bullying behavior namely physical, verbal, and non-physical/ non-verbal bullying. There are 6 dimensions of school climate, namely safety, academic, community, institusional environment, educational orientation and culture. While the dimensions of self-esteem are 4 namely significance, power, competence and virtue. This study uses quantitative methods with convinence sampling techniques on the grounds that the use of this type focuses on the sampling place, namely boarding school with the conditions set, namely boarding school students ranging from grade VII junior high school to grade 6 high school with a total sample of 412 people. The research instrument used a 77-item Likert scale test. Validity and reliability test using the RASCH Winstep Model. The data analysis method used is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of this study indicate that there is an influence a between positive school climate, it can reduce the tendency of bullying behavior in boarding schools, the results of further research on the effect of school climate on bullying behavior with self-esteem as a moderator variable show that self-esteem can’t moderate the influence of school climate. The high and low self-esteem of a person still causes the emergency of bullying behavior supported by the state of the school climate.
