Flying fish (Decapterus spp.) are one of the important small pelagic fisheries communities in Indonesia. This fish, which belongs to the Carangidae tribe, can live in groups. Flying fish are one of the main catches of fishermen and are landed at PPN Sibolga, North Sumatra. This research was carried out in July ˗ August 2023. The number of flying fish samples during the research was 141 with a fork length between 119 ˗ 277 mm and a total weight between 20 ˗ 90 grams. The catch was 10 types of fish with flying fish as the main catch. The proportion of the main catch is 59% based on weight and is categorized as environmentally unfriendly and 73% based on the number of catches. The proportion of the catch is fully utilized or 100%. The value of the size at first maturity of the gonads (Lm) is 230.19 mm. The proportion of flying fish with a catchable size is 19% or 27 fish which are in the environmentally unfriendly category.en_US
