Local chicken meat has advantages over broiler chicken meat, because
of its higher nutritional content. So far, free-range chicken production in various
regions has not been able to meet market needs. This research was conducted on
Jl. Namorambe High School, Namorambe subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency in
March-May 2023.
This research aims to determine the sources of risk in local chicken
production in accordance with farm conditions, analyze the probability and
impact caused by sources of production risk and formulate alternative risk
strategies. The analysis method used is the z-score and Value At Risk (VAR)
method. Based on the results of the z-score and Value At Risk (VAR) analysis, the
probability values obtained were disease 26 percent, changes in air temperature
in the cage 23 percent and DOC quality 17 percent. The impact obtained was
disease Rp 860.395,16, changes in air temperature in the cage Rp 117.705,31
and DOC quality Rp 94.018,41 The recommended risk management strategies
based on the mapping results are preventive and mitigation strategies. Barokah
Farms can carry out preventive strategies by implementing biosecurity, regular
temperature control and mitigation strategies by providing training to employees
regarding disease and increasing supervision of employees so they are more
diligent in working.
