dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to investigate the process of procuring deposit collections to collect works of North Sumatra authors at the Library and Archives Office of North Sumatra province. The study was conducted at the Library and Archives Office of North Sumatra province at Brigadier General Katamso street number 45 Sei Mati. The method employed was descriptive qualitative research. Both primary and secondary data sources were utilized in this study, with informants selected through purposive sampling. The research included four informants: one Junior Librarian and one First Librarian from the deposit service, as well as one staff member each from UMSU Press and USU Press. Data analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing to analyze pertinent and meaningful data. Data collection methods encompassed observation, interviews, and documentation, utilizing triangulation of data, theory, and method to ensure data validity. The findings revealed that the procurement of deposit collections at the Library and Archives Office of North Sumatra province includes: (1) the availability of printed works that adequately meet users' needs for accessing information, and (2) the direct submission of recorded works by publishers to the library and archive service for user utilization. | en_US |
