This research describes the semantic categorization and conceptual mapping of metaphors found in the discourse of the G20 Bali Summit in online mass media. The data utilized for this study is written data, collected through the observation method and note-taking technique. The analysis of the data employs the distribution method, with the basic technique being the technique for direct elements (BUL). The research utilizes the Conceptual Metaphor Theory by developing a scheme-image as an analytical tool. The findings of this study reveal two type metaphors: the ECONOMY metaphor and the TECHNOLOGY metaphor. Within the TECHNOLOGY metaphor, seven categories were identified, namely (1) PHYSICAL POWER, (2) VEHICLES, (3) DISEASE, (4) JOURNEY, (5) PLANTS, (6) ENEMY, and (7) POWER. In the ECONOMY metaphor, seven categories were found, namely (1) GROWTH, (2) VEHICLES, (3) NATURAL RESOURCES, (4) BODY ANATOMY, (5) BUILDINGS, (6) DISEASE, and (7) PHYSICAL POWER. The conceptual mapping of the TECHNOLOGY metaphor reveals the scheme of SPACE, while the conceptual mapping of the ECONOMY metaphor includes the schemes of SOURCE-PATH-GOAL, POWER, and SPACE.
