Nilai-Nilai Sosial dalam Novel Laut Bercerita Karya Leila S. Chudori

Abstract

This study aims to describe the social values in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori which relate to the realities of life. The social values studied use a theory that suggests social values consisting of love which contains devotion, kinship, responsibility which contains cooperation, justice, discipline and harmony of life which contains care and loyalty. This research uses a qualitative approach which will produce descriptive data in the form of written words from the characters observed. The data source comes from the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori which was published in 2017 by the Gramedia Popular Library with 379 pages. The data taken is in the form of words, phrases, clauses and paragraphs that refer to social values. The technique used uses documentation techniques or literature review followed by note-taking techniques. When all the data is collected, the next process is data analysis which is carried out by reducing the data, presenting the data and then drawing conclusions. The results of this research produced three social values, each of which consists of Loves), namely devotion, family, mutual help, caring and loyalty. Then there is Responsibility, namely a sense of belonging, empathy and discipline, and Life Harmony, namely justice, cooperation, tolerance and democracy.
