Analysis of Writing Harakat Marks on Words Preceded by the Harful ‘Amil by Grade XII Students of MAS Ittihadul Muballighin, West Pasaman District, Medan
Abstract
This research discusses the Error Analysis of Writing Harakat Marks on Words
Preceded by the Harful ‘Amil by Grade XII Students of MAS Ittihadul Muballighin
in the West Pasaman District. The issues addressed in this study are (1) errors in
writing harakat marks on words preceded by the harful ‘amil, and (2) factors
influencing these errors. The objectives of this research are (1) to identify the
harakat marks that are incorrectly written in Arabic texts preceded by the harful
‘amil by Grade XII students of MAS Ittihadul Muballighin, and (2) to understand
the factors influencing these errors. This research is a field study that employs a
descriptive method. The theory used is the error analysis theory proposed by Rod
Ellis. Based on the results of the error analysis research on the writing errors of
harakat marks on words preceded by the harful ‘amil by grade XII students of MAS
Ittihadul Muballighin, it was found that there are 18 types of errors in harakat mark
writing, namely 6 errors in diacritical marks on words preceded by the harful jar, 6
errors in words preceded by the harfun nasab, and 6 errors in harakat mark writing
on words preceded by the harful jazm. The factors influencing these errors include
material selection, teaching methods, language examples used as materials, and
student factors. Additionally, errors can also be caused by interlingual and
intralingual factors.
