This study is entitled “Sexism in the Reporting of Tempo Digital Magazine (Discourse Analysis Study in the Tempo Digital Magazine Special Report April 24th, 2021Edition using Teun A. Van Dijk Method)” with the aim of knowing the structure of the text, social, and awareness that is formed; how sexism is framed; and the discourse process produced by the journalists in the media as purpose. Theory used in the study is a qualitative method with Teun A. Van Dijk discourse analysis as the medium to execute the method, complemented by sexism theory which emphasizes the use of sexist language (a situation where language is used to show bias towards one gender and humiliate the rest). Apart from that, mass communication, mass media, and new media are theories that was also used in this study. In addition, critical paradigm used here to provide greater sharpness in the study. In the April 24th, 2021 edition Tempo digital magazine in his 50thanniversary packed gender issue with it‟s smart, sharp and equitable signature. Tempo reported the long way women activists need to go through in order to legalized the Draft of Law on the Elimination of Sexual Violence (RUU PKS) on their Kartini Day special report April 24th, 2021 edition. There are 7 articles analyzed, 6 written by Tempo female figures special report team and 1 written by a lecturer from Jentera Indonesian College of Law (STHI). The articles analyzed based on text analysis (macro structure, superstructure, and micro structure), social cognition analysis, and social context analysis. The results shows that there is favoritism in the writing towards certain parties and gender seen by the use of metaphors and lexicons as well as details that supported without degrading the other parties and gender. Viewed with social cognition dimension, the scheme used here is event schemas and person schemas along with role schemas in the STHI lecture‟s discourse. As for social context, it is found that the practice of power and access applied by Tempo to show them and their readers exclusivity.
