dc.description.abstract | Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) are businesses owned by individuals or groups in society which consist of family businesses, are not legal entities, use simple technology, utilize local resources and are not officially recognized as an economic sector that plays an important role in the economy. nationally by utilizing local resources so that they need moral and material support in developing their business in the future. The Medan City Cooperatives and SME Service as the agency in the field of supervision and empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has the task of developing and training SME in Medan City so that they can compete nationally and internationally. The problems that arise are related to the capacity of the Medan City Cooperatives and SME Department in Digitalizing SME in Medan City, the small number of SME participating in training, the lack of ability of SME in using technology, the unavailability of training buildings for SME in Medan City, and the assistance received by SME not evenly distributed.
The method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. In researching, researchers conducted interviews with informants from the Medan City Cooperatives and SME Service. Researchers also conducted interviews with people who are registered as owners of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Medan City. Then observations, documentation and library studies were also carried out at the Medan City Cooperatives and SME Department to answer the research problem. To check the validity of the data, source triangulation techniques and techniques were used, namely comparing several sources and data collection techniques.
The results of the findings in the field, researchers concluded that the capacity of the Medan City Cooperatives and SME Department in Digitalizing SME in Medan City has not been maximized. The resource capacity with the human resources sub-indicator of the Medan City Cooperatives and SME Service needs to be increased in surveying SME actors who take part in training and in the Infrastructure, Technology and Finance sub-indicator, the Medan City Cooperative and SME Service does not have training building infrastructure for SME, as well as a lack of material assistance to SME actors. Management capacity in the program and management sub-indicator also needs to improve training and socialization programs for SME and in the network & cooperative relations sub-indicator there is still not much cooperation with marketplaces in developing SME. | en_US |
