The advancement of technology has made smartphones indispensable for many people. Indonesia currently ranks fourth with the highest number of smartphone users in the world. This raises several problems, one of which is in terms of choosing the best smartphone. Research was conducted on Mathematics Students at the University of North Sumatra with 100 respondents. The method used is Cut Off Point in selecting criteria so that seven out of twelve criteria are produced using the results of the Natural Cut Off Point value of 2.375. Each selected criterion is represented using Fuzzy Linier and Fuzzy Linguistic representations. The selection process uses the TOPSIS method, with criteria weights derived from weighting criteria based on filling out questionnaires by 100 respondents. The TOPSIS method also uses the suitability value by each criterion against each alternative to build an initial decision matrix. The suitability value is obtained based on the results of the work of the previous Fuzzy representation. The highest preference value generated by the TOPSIS method is the best selected alternative. Based on the results of calculations with the TOPSIS method, the selected alternative which is the best alternative is the first alternative A4, namely Oppo Reno 8T with a preference value of 0.874. Then followed by alternative A1, namely Vivo V27e with a preference value of 0.823, alternative A3, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G with a preference value of 0.745, alternative A2, Realme 10 Pro 5G with a preference value of 0.276, and the last alternative A5, namely Samsung Galaxy A34 5G with a preference value of 0.204. This study also shows that the Storage Capacity criterion is the criterion most needed by users in determining smartphones with an average value of 2.93.en_US
