Fenomena Kodokushi pada Masyarakat Miyakojima Jepang Nihon No Miyakojima Shakai Ni Okeru Kodokushi No Genshou

Abstract

This research focuses on the kodokushi phenomenon in the Japanese Miyakojima community. Kodokushi is a phenomenon in Japanese society today. The theories used in this research are sociological theory, social psychology theory, impact theory and phenomenological theory. The aim of this research is to describe the community response and impact of kodokushi on Miyakojima. The kodokushi phenomenon in Miyakojima is not really publicized in any media. The method used in this research is a qualitative method of describing and analyzing data. Data collection techniques are interviews, and literature. The results of the research show that the people of Miyakojima think that the cause of kodokushi is changes in family structure, as well as a lack of interaction with the surrounding environment. Kodokushi has a negative impact because kodokushi can affect the economy of apartment owners who have to sell at a loss on that place. However, there is a positive impact, namely that apartment owners get cleaning insurance services. Kodokushi is a serious problem for the people of Miyakojima due to the large elderly population on the island.
