dc.description.abstract | The objective of the research is to find out the implementation of depreciating medical records at Padang Bulan Puskesmas, Medan Baru Subdistrict, Medan. The research employs descriptive qualitative approach. The samples are three informants, consisting of the Head of Medical Record Section and two staffs. The data are gathered by conducting observation, interview, and documentation and analyzed by using data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification; the aim is to analyze relevant and meaningful data. The result of the research shows that, according to Wijaya and Dewi, inactive medical record depreciation is carried out in three stages, namely: Firstly, sorting inactive medical records by checking them one by one on the shelf of storing them from the family folders by checking the patients’ last visits. After that, they are moved to the inactive medical record storage. Active medical records are returned to the active medical record shelf (roll o’ pack). Secondly, inactive medical records are assessed according to their age (two years since the last time patients visited the Puskesmas). Thirdly, the elimination of inactive medical records has never been carried out by the management of the Padang Bulan Puskesmas (Public Health Center). Therefore, the Analysis on the Implementation of Inactive Medical Record Depreciation at Padang Bulan Puskesmas is appropriate, according to Wijaya and Dewi, but their elimination is not appropriate. The obstacles in depreciating inactive medical records at the Puskesmas are as follows: depreciation depends on time, the elimination has never been done so far, there is no retention schedule of inactive medical records, and the management does not have a special room for storing inactive medical records. | en_US |
