dc.description.abstractThis research aims to describe how the process of meaning relations between words and sentences is carried out in community activities in Secanggang Village in the form of synonymy, antonymy, polysemy, homonymy and hyponymy in the Langkat Malay language. The research location is located in Secanggang Village, Langkat Regency. The data sources in this thesis were obtained from interviews with informants and made in written form. The results obtained were 29 pairs of synonyms, where the dominant pairs of synonyms were more intensive synonyms than other synonymous words. Apart from that, 17 antonyms are divided into four types, namely binary and non-binary antonyms, graded and ungraded antonyms, directional antonyms and relational antonyms, where the more dominant antonym meaning relations are binary and non-binary antonyms. Apart from synonyms and antonyms, there are other meaning relations in the form of 7 pairs of homonyms, 2 pairs of hyponyms and 6 pairs of polysemy.en_US
