Religious Values in The Novel Wo Ai Ni Allah By Vanny Chrisma W: A Sociological Analysis of Literature
Abstract
A literary work is a work of writing in which there are teaching elements. Authors of literary
works try to include the values of life in literary works. One of the literary works of fiction
that contains a lot of teaching is the novel Wo Ai Ni Allah by Vanny Chrisma W. The teaching
values conveyed in the novel Wo Ai Ni Allah are related to religious values. The purpose of
this research is to describe the religious values in the novel Wo Ai Ni Allah. The theory
applied in this research is literary sociology approach and qualitative description research
method. The results of this study are expected to help understand the novel Wo Ai Ni Allah by
Vanny Chrisma W and can be a reference for further researchers, so as to obtain new
concepts to broaden insight and knowledge in the role of religion in everyday life. With
religion, a person has guidelines for living life. Based on the research, it can be concluded
that there are several religious values in the novel Wo Ai Ni Allah by Vanny Chrisma W,
namely morals related to God running prayers, fasting, zakat, hajj, gratitude, bertasbih,
prayer, and beristigfar reflect human relationships with God. Morals related to oneself in the
form of gratitude, patience, honesty, self-improvement, and refraining from anger. Morals
related to the family are fostering and educating the family, following the wishes of parents,
honoring and glorifying parents. Morals related to society are the behavior of mutual
respect, helping, deliberation, and morals related to nature God created nature to be
guarded, admired, loved, and preserved.
