Analysis of Adolescent Violence in Korean Series (John Fiske's Semiotic Analysis of Korean Series Weak Hero Class 1)
Abstract
This study is entitled "Analysis of Adolescent Violence in Korean Series (John Fiske's Semiotic Analysis of Korean Series WEAK HERO CLASS 1)" using qualitative research methods. The purpose of this study is the analysis of adolescent violence in scenes in the Korean Drama Series Weak Hero Class 1. This research uses Semiotics analysis techniques from John Fiske with three levels of television coding, namely the level of Reality, Level of Representation, Level of Ideology. This study used non-participant observation data collection techniques by making direct and free observations of the object of research by watching eight episodes of the drama series Weak Hero Class 1 and observing and analyzing dialogues and scenes containing violence against adolescents. The results of this study found fifteen "Scenes" containing violence divided into eight that present acts of violence and make adolescents objects of violence through scenes or backgrounds that show violence such as scenes of beatings, assaults, bullying, mocking which aim to attract many viewers by making violence committed by adolescents as a tool of attraction.
