    Abstract
    This research aims to examine and describe the development of the Sippan tourist attraction in the village of Silimakuta Barat. This tourist attraction features beautiful natural scenery and the unique cultural heritage of the local community, which attracts tourists. The development of the Sippan tourist attraction in the village of Silimakuta Barat provides opportunities for the local community to benefit from, but it also presents challenges that the local community must face.This study employed a qualitative research method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with tourism operators and the local community, direct observation, and analysis of documents related to the development of the tourist attraction. The analysis was conducted to identify opportunities and challenges faced by the local community and the tourist attraction operators.The research results indicate that the development of the tourist attraction in the village of Sippan offers economic growth opportunities for the community through increased income and job prospects. However, several challenges were identified, such as environmental changes, lifestyle changes, social inequality, and competition among local community businesses. Based on the analysis, this research recommends several strategies for sustainable tourist attraction development in the village of Silimakuta Barat. These include improved environmental management, collaboration between the government and the community, increased participation of the local community in preserving the environment and culture of Sippan village, and educating the community about responsible tourism. By implementing these strategies, the development of the Sippan tourist attraction in the village of Silimakuta Barat is expected to achieve sustainable tourism management that has a positive impact on all stakeholders. This research contributes to an understanding of the importance of sustainable tourism development and provides practical guidance for other tourist destinations in addressing challenges and leveraging opportunities in the tourism sector.
