Violence often occurs in social life in Indonesia. We often face violence in public places and even within the family. Domestic violence or commonly abbreviated as KDRT generally makes women (wives) the victims. The problem of domestic violence requires real efforts from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, namely by forming a task force to handle women's and children's problems from the central level to the regional level. The aim of forming the task force is to extend the hand of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) which is located and responsible under the Women and Children Empowerment Service. This research was conducted at the Department of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (DP3APPKB) Bukittinggi City. The main informants in this research were three members of the Task Force in Mandiangin Koto Selayan District, Bukittinggi City. Additional informants were two members/case support personnel of the Bukittinggi City DP3APPKB and a resident who lives in Campago Guguak Bulek Village. As well as the key informant, namely the Head of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) for Bukittinggi City. Data collection techniques were carried out using field studies, namely observation, interviews and documentation, as well as literature studies. The data obtained in the field is then analyzed by the researcher and explained qualitatively, until finally conclusions can be drawn from the research results. The results of the research show that the role of the Bukittinggi City Women and Children Protection Task Force (PPA) in handling domestic violence cases in Campago Guguak Bulek Subdistrict, Mandiangin Koto Selayan District is by conducting outreach to women and children who experience problems and/or violence in the subdistrict area, protecting women and children at the scene of the incident from things that could endanger them, place and evacuate women and children who experience problems and/or violence to the Secretariat for Services and Case Handling of Women and Children Victims of Violence or other service institutions, and make referrals and/or recommendations to the Secretariat for Services and Handling Women and Children Cases in Bukittinggi City, to obtain further services.en_US
