    Abstract
The environmental problems that are occurring today can no longer be called natural problems because humans provide a very significant variable cause factor for environmental events. One of the environmental problems familiar to river outskirts is river pollution that causes natural events, namely flooding. Therefore, the growing community cares about the river environment with various concerns such as concern about river ecosystem, river water quality or contamination, and the prevention of abuse of shipping and river boundaries is expected to disseminate knowledge to the public about the importance ofining and caring for river environments so that their functions do not continue to deteriorate. This research was done in Sanggar Anak Sungai Deli (SASUDE). The main informants in this study are two teaching staff and four children from the 7-12 age group of SASUDE. Additional informants are two families of children from 7-12 years of age and two people living in the community around sanggar. As well as key informants are the SASUDE founder, head of ward XII sub-district Sei Mati, and Environmentalists. Data collection techniques are carried out with field studies i.e. observations, interviews and documentation, as well as library studies. Data obtained in the field is then analyzed by the researcher described qualitatively, until eventually can be drawn conclusions from the results of the research. The results show that the implementation of the Sanggar Anak Sungai Deli (SASUDE) program in environmental care around the banks of the river includes environmental programmes including mutual cooperation, ecobrick, environmental material, and greening of the area around the sanggar. The program is implemented to implement environmentally-conscious behaviour as presented by the Directorate of Primary Secondary Schools, the Ministry of Education and Culture in commemorating World Environment Day, namely by not dumping waste, not burning waste, saving energy, using recycled products, planting trees, and reducing waste.
