Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri dan Antioksidan dari Ekstrak Metanol Daun Butterbur (Petasites Hybridus) (L) G. Gaertn., B.Mey.&Scherb)
Abstract
The dry powder of butterbur leaves (Petasites Hybridus) was extracted using
methanol as a solvent. The methanol extract obtained was tested for antibacterial
activity using the paper disc diffusion method and the antioxidant test using the free
radical scavenging (2,2–diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. The results of the
antibacterial activity test of the methanol extract of butterbur leaves against
Staphylococcus epidermidis and Klebsiella pneumoniae showed that the methanol
extract inhibited bacterial growth at a concentration of 60% (v/v) and a clear zone of
15.3 mm in Staphylococcus epidermidis and 16.4 mm in bacteria Klebsiella
pneumoniae . The results of the antioxidant activity test showed that butterbur leaf
extract had a strong category of antioxidant activity with an IC50 of 6.8773 ppm.
