    Abstract
    Cooking oil is one of the necessities in everyday life. Recently, there has been a problem with cooking oil that is being scarce, which causes the community or fried food traders to use cooking oil that is not suitable for use. Cooking oil viscosity detector using an Arduino Uno-based inductive proximity sensor is used to determine the quality level of cooking oil based on its viscosity, the inductive proximity sensor assisted by a magnetic module will make the tool system able to measure the velocity value of the Mimis ball falling ball and the time required so that it can be displayed on a 16x2 LCD. . The test was carried out by measuring the value of the falling speed of the mimis ball from two samples of cooking oil. The oil samples used in this study were cooking oil for 4 times use (cooking oil) and bulk cooking oil. The falling speed of the mimis ball with different radii allows to know the viscosity value of the cooking oil that has been used. The tool designed has succeeded imeasuring the viscosity of cooking oil with a percent deviation of 16% for bulk oil and 28% for 4 times used (cooking) oil.
