North Sumatra is one of the provinces with the largest population in Indonesia. A large population produces a large number of workers so that it requires much wider job opportunities so that the unemployment rate in North Sumatra can be reduced, therefore there is a need for research and analysis related to the problem of the uneven labor force participation rate in North Sumatra in each district. /cities in North Sumatra and see whether they are still under control or out of control and to see which districts/cities should receive special attention to reducing unemployment by creating job opportunities. The method used is the statistical quality control (SQC) method using control maps X and R. The type of data used is secondary data, with the data used in this studbeingis Labor Force Participation Rate data in 2017-2020, with a total sample of a total of 33 regencies/cities in North Sumatra. The results of the analysis of this study are the average value of x which is the central line for the X control map is 73.224. The Upper Controlling Limit (BPA) is 79.09 and the Lower Controlling Limit (BPB) is 67.36. The mean value for R which is the Central line for the R control chart is 8.033. The Upper Controlling Limit (BPA) is 18.32 and the Lower Controlling Limit (BPB) is 0. From the results of this analysis, it can be seen and concluded that the labor force participation rate (TPAK) in North Sumatra is still not within the control standard.
