Development of Chicken Feeding Tool using IoT Based Nodemcu ESP8266
Abstract
Livestock is one of the largest food providers after agriculture. Generally, farmers in Indonesia still carry out conventional farming activities, namely feeding directly to the cattle pens. Activities carried out like this will take a lot of energy and time for farmers. The manufacture of this tool is to provide convenience for farmers in feeding which is usually done manually into automatic and scheduled feeding. This tool uses Arduino Nano as a microcontroller which functions as the brain of the whole circuit that is connected and connected to the system. This tool also uses the ESP8266 wifi module communication which is connected to an android phone and runs Arduino Nano. This tool also uses a Loadcell which functions as a reader for the amount of feed in the container. The DS3231 Real Time Clock module is used in setting the feeding time scheduler. Servo motor is used as a driver to open and close the feed exit so that the feed from the container comes out. This tool also uses a Water Sensor to detect water in the container and a blynk application that functions as a monitor for the remaining occupancy of feed and also water in the container. The experimental results show the system has been running well, where the system can provide animal feed automatically which can be monitored remotely using the blynk application with an average error of feed weight that is inputted to the amount of feed by 1.907% and in the manual system the feed weight is input from blink application.
