Peran Pemerintah dalam Pengembangan Objek Wisata Geosite Huta Tinggi-Sidihoni Kabupaten Samosir sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Kunjungan Wisatawan

Abstract

The role of government is all actions and policies carried out by local governments in carrying out their duties, authorities and obligations. This research aims to obtain an overview of how the role of the Samosir Regency Government, especially the Tourism and Culture Office, in managing and striving to increase the number of visits, improve facilities and infrastructure as well as provide socialization and education to the community in improving the Lake Sidihoni Geo-site. The research method used in this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through interview techniques, observation, documentation and literature study. The informants in this study consisted of 3 (three) people, namely; Head of Samosir Tourism Office, Sidihoni Geosite Manager, and the Community. The results of this study indicate that the role of the Samosir Regency Government, especially the Tourism and Culture Office in managing the Lake Sidihoni tourism sector, plays a role in providing education and socialization about the importance of the tourism sector, completing facilities and infrastructure and playing a role in marketing and providing information related to Lake Sidihoni attractions. Factors that influence the development of tourist attractions are supporting factors, namely natural conditions that are still maintained, the amount of tourism potential and free of charge to visit, while inhibiting factors are the lack of public awareness of cleanliness and people around Lake Sidihoni who do not want to release Lake Sidihoni land to be managed directly by the government. The researcher's recommendation from the research results is that cooperation is expected between the local government of Samosir Regency and the community around the Lake Sidihoni tourist attraction so that management and development can be carried out in totality so that facilities and infrastructure that are not yet optimal can be fulfilled.
