Supervision is an activity to observe and correct all work that has been carried out according to a previously determined plan. This research aims to analyze how the supervision of the distribution of 3 kg subsidized LPG gas is carried out by the Medan City Small, Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade Cooperatives Service. However, the distribution method is good, but there is still a shortage of 3 kg LPG gas. Supervision of the distribution of 3 Kg LPG is important to ensure the smoothness, affordability of services, and fulfillment of 3 Kg LPG needs for the community, so it is necessary to supervise and monitor the distribution of 3 Kg LPG from distribution irregularities, violations of the Highest Retail Price (HET), scarcity and misuse, as well as Inhibiting factors in carrying out supervision of 3 Kg LPG gas distribution in Medan City. The research method used was a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, observation and documentation. This research is located at the Department of Cooperatives for Small, Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade, Medan City. The informants in this research were the Information, Policy Formulation and Supervision Sector, Information Systems Working Team, Policy Formulation and Supervision of the Industrial Scope, 3 Kg LPG Gas Agent, 3 Kg LPG Gas Base, and the Community. The data obtained was then analyzed qualitatively by examining all the data that had been collected and supported by the results of interviews using the monitoring indicator approach of Robbins and Coulter in Satriadi (2016, p. 290), which stated that Setting Standards, Measurement, Compare and Take Action. The results of this research show that the Department of Small, Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade Cooperatives already has a clear SOP for purchasing 3 kg subsidized LPG gas, but the measurements are inaccurate, the comparison of target and realization is not perfect and there is no firm action taken to minimize problems. This LPG gas problem occurs due to a lack of supervisory coordination between related agencies, inadequate supervision or control from the provincial and central levels, and control coordination in resolving existing problems. This can be a basis for re-evaluating and re-socializing policies to distributors, especially in terms of selling gas, as well as acting more decisively in issuing retailers which are increasing day by day. Then socialize it to the public to anticipate differences in selling prices.en_US
