dc.description.abstractThis research is entitled Representation of Female Inculinity in the Film 500 Days of Summer by Marc Webb. This research aims to find out how female masculinity is represented in the film 500 Days of Summer by Marc Webb. This research uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. This research uses a qualitative approach with an interpretive method which requires researchers to argue in interpreting the object under study. The data collection method used in this research was collected directly from the scenes shown in the film and by library research. This research uses Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis which consists of the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth. The results of this research are that there are 5 scenes that have been analyzed using denotative and connotative levels. The result of this research is to find out the representation of female masculinity contained in this film. Masculine attitudes are found in several female characters in this film because they succeed in breaking down gender stereotypes that often occur in society.en_US
