dc.description.abstractThe aim of this research is to see and analyze the community's readiness to face the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in Sidiangkat Village, Dairi Regency. The data collection method used in this research is through a qualitative approach with descriptive studies. The data obtained in this research is the knowledge that the community has in facing the Covid-19 pandemic from July 2020 to July 2021. Stages of community readiness were obtained using the Tri-Ethnic Center for Prevention Research method. The results of this research show that people's readiness is moving from no awareness to preparation. In the dimension of public knowledge, people have begun to realize that this pandemic is a problem that needs to be resolved. The public already understands and has knowledge related to Covid-19. The community climate dimension, where public awareness begins to appear by providing supportive responses to the efforts made by the government through compliance in following health protocols. In the leadership dimension, the village government is not active in activities and the regional government's role is more dominant in controlling this pandemic. The dimension of public knowledge regarding issues shows that various efforts have been made by the public to protect themselves from this virus. People use traditional medicine and traditional herbs as medicine to increase the body's immunity. In the resource dimension, the lack of references or experience in dealing with the Covid-19 virus means that medical personnel and the Sidikalang General Hospital have not been able to provide good service to patients. Disaster mitigation is needed in preparing the community, government and medical personnel to face disasters. Disaster mitigation includes providing outreach and training to the community and medical personnel so that they have the knowledge and ability to deal with pandemics; speed and accuracy of information are supporting aspects for the success of this mitigation; preparing hospitals that respond to disasters, and cultivating herbal plants as local wisdom that helps people achieve health.en_US
