This study was conducted to examine the effect of the human development index, total income, and the open unemployment rate on the poverty rate in North Sumatra during the new normal. This research was conducted using Path Analysis method. The exogenous variables used are the human development index, total income and the open unemployment rate. And the endogenous variable used is the level of poverty. Techniques and analysis with Path Analysis was conducted to see the large influence of the human development index, open unemployment rate, and total income on the poverty level. The data collected is processed periodically and in the same time period, namely in 2021. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been carried out, it turns out that the three variables, namely the human development index, total income, and the open unemployment rate have a significant effect on the poverty rate in North Sumatra. = -0.8219 X1 – 0.0307 X2 + 0,2019 Y of 59.42% the poverty rate in North Sumatra is influenced by the human development index, total income, and the open unemployment rate while 40.58% is influenced by other factors.
