dc.description.abstract | Taro (Colocasia esculenta L.) is one of the tubers that is widely planted in Indonesia and comes from the genus Colocasia and belongs to the Araceaefamily. This family consists of 118 genera and more than 3,000 species. To make processed taro, a machine is needed to speed up the slicing process, called a taro slicing machine. The aim of this research is to test the rotation speed of the Taro slicing machine with the calculation parameters of the effective capacity of the tool, yield, percentage of material left behind and economic analysis. This taro slicing machinehas 3 engine rotation speed treatments, namely 2400 rpm, 2600 rpm and 2800 rpm.In this study, the average effective capacity of the tool was found to be 102.37 kg/hour, 157.70 kg/hour, and 160.81 kg/hour. The average yields obtained from testing were 95.73%, 97.00% and 93.67%. The results of the average percentage of leftover material are 2.6%, 3.4% and 6.0%. The economic analysis of this machine has fixed costs of IDR 184,000/year. | en_US |
