According to the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number 77 of 2019 concerning the Utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products in Production Forests and the Collection of Non-Timber Forest Products in State Forests, NTFPs are biological forest products, both vegetable and animal, along with derivative and cultivated products except wood originating from the forest by statutory provisions. The research aims to identify the types of NTFPs that will be managed, analyze NTFP management strategies, and analyze the priority level of NTFP management strategies in KPH Region IV Balige based on conservation aspects, participation of parties, and local wisdom in KPH Region IV Balige. The research was carried out at the Balige Region IV Forest Management Unit (KPH) from August to October 2022. The results of the research showed that: (1) the types of NTFPs that will be managed consist of pine resin, honey, sugar palm, rattan, incense, ornamental plants and fruit plants which include durian, avocado, mango, jengkol, petai and arabica coffee, (2) the NTFP management strategy is an S-O strategy which consists of a strategy to develop the NTFP management business by improving the quality of products that have good selling value and can compete in the market, establishing cooperation with parties related to the management of the Lake Toba area to help introduce NTFP products, submit requests for proposals for assistance to entrepreneurs engaged in the management of NTFPs by offering partnership cooperation, selling NTFP management business products at more economical prices and of good quality and establishing cooperation with local governments in developing NTFP business products, especially in facilitating capital and productive economic tools (3) The priority level of NTFP management strategies in KPH Region IV Balige consists of the criteria for apine sap, honey, sugar palm, rattan and frankincense, ornamental plants and fruit plants. The alternative sequence is the conservation aspect, the participation aspect of the parties, and the alternative local wisdom aspect.
