Belawan Estuary has a strategic location that makes it the location of port docks and local and international economic growth sectors. At this time the Belawan Estuary is suspected to have decreased water quality caused by the entry of various waste discharges from various human activities, causing changes in the physical, chemical, biological and aesthetic quality of the river. Therefore, research is needed on the Belawan estuary to determine the characteristics of water quality analysis along with the pollution status in the Belawan estuary. The method used in determining the location is Purposive sampling which is divided into 8 stations based on different characteristics. Water sampling is done spatially and temporarily. Test results show that the waters are already highly polluted. Water quality testing is also carried out using the pollutant index method, CCME (Canadial Council Minister of the Environment), and MMWQI (Marine Malaysia Water Quality Index).en_US
