dc.description.abstractElectrical energy is increasingly needed, people's need for electrical energy also continues to increase every year along with the increase in lifestyle and the equipment used. Based on this, improvements to the electrical system are needed to increase the brightness and quality of the electrical system provided by the electricity provider. One of the factors in assessing the acoustics of an electrical system can be seen from the voltage profile and power losses. Both in generators that have installed DG and those that have not. To maintain a good voltage profile and to reduce power losses, Distributed Generation (DG) capacity optimization can be done. In this thesis, DG capacity optimization is carried out on the PT 5 Feeder 20 kV distribution system using Modified Shark Smell Optimization. After optimization, the reduction in power losses from 100 kW to 90kW means that there is a gain of 10 kW using the MSSO method. For the DG capacity value, there was an improvement of 0.9 MW on Bus 131 with a capacity of 3.6 MW.en_US
