Rancang Bangun dan Uji Kinerja Antena Mikrostrip Patch Rectangular dengan Inset Feed pada Frekuensi 1,5 GHz untuk Broadband Wireless Access
Design and Performance Test of Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna with Inset Feed at 1.5 GHz Frequency for Broadband Wireless Access
Abstract
BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) technology is considered generation technology in the world of wireless telecommunications by continuing to innovate with the ability to provide services with flexibility and mobility. Microstrip antennas are one of the supporting components for wireless communications that are suitable and widely used for BWA telecommunications systems. The microstrip antenna is designed in the form of a rectangular patch with the addition of an inset feed at a frequency of 1.5 GHz for BWA technology with implementation as a learning module at USU's DTE Intelligent Radio Systems Laboratory. Based on the comparison of parameter results between microstrip feedline feeding and the inset feed method in the CST simulation, the return loss was -17.112119 dB, VSWR 1.3240238, bandwidth 24 MHz, gain 3.660 dBi, and unidirectional radiation pattern. Meanwhile, by adding the inset feed, the return loss was -32.381435 dB, VSWR 1.0492636, bandwidth 24 MHz, gain 3.686 dBi, and unidirectional radiation pattern. Then the microstrip antenna was fabricated with an inset feed with performance testing using a VNA to obtain a return loss of -25.09 dB, VSWR 1.11, and a bandwidth of 24 MHz.
