dc.description.abstractRectangular microstrip antennas are the most widely used antennas to support small and light equipment. One technique to improve the performance of a microstrip antenna is to use matching impedance techniques. In this article we will discuss the use of matching impedance techniques using the ¼ λ transformer method to improve the VSWR value and return loss of the antenna system. The design of the ¼ λ transformer was carried out using a theoretical approach and plan optimization with the help of the AWR simulator. Based on the simulation results, it is known that the use of a ¼λ transformer is able to increase the VSWR value by 52%. The resulting return loss and gain values are –22.16 dB and 5.657 dB respectively. The radiation pattern is in the same direction with the radiation peak forming an angle of 00.en_US
