| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to determine the leading sector in North Tapanuli Regency. Leading sectors are sectors that in their existence have the potential and opportunity to grow and are able to encourage the growth of other sectors so as to create independent economic development.
The type of research used is quantitative descriptive, namely descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The data used is GRDP data for North Tapanuli Regency and North Sumatra Province for 2016-2020. Determination of leading sectors is obtained by combining two analytical tools, namely, Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and Typology Klassen analysis. LQ analysis will show basic or non-base sectors, while Typology Klassen analysis will show advanced or slow sectors.
Based on calculations using the two analytical tools used, the leading sector in North Tapanuli Regency is the Transportation and Warehousing sector. This sector is a base sector and is classified as an advanced and rapidly growing sector. So that it can be said that North Tapanuli Regency has experienced a shift in economic structure, namely the primary sector to the tertiary sector, namely from the agricultural sector to the service provider sector in the form of services | en_US |
