dc.description.abstract | Pantai Cermin is one of the coastal areas that has tourism potential that varies in quantity and quality. However, the tourism potential in the Pantai Cermin Beach area has not been identified and managed properly, so it is necessary to map the tourism potential as a first step in determining a tourism development strategy. Changes in land use are currently increasing along with technological advances and an increase in population. The same thing happened in Pantai District. In this study, Sentinel-2 was used with the supervised classification method. The main objective is to identify and map tourism conditions in the Pantai Cermin area and to analyze the land cover characteristics of the Pantai Cermin sub district in 2022 by making several training area samples for each predetermined land cover class and analyzing the density of vegetation in the 2022 land cover class. Based on the results of the study, there are 5 beaches in Pantai Cermin sub-district and 7 land cover classes in Pantai Cermin sub-district, namely agricultural land, mangroves, settlements, shrubs, paddy fields, oil palm, and bodies of water dominated by oil palm with an area of 1,668.6 Ha or 20.9% and the smallest land cover is ponds with an area of 300.20 Ha or 3.76%. Vegetation density in Pantai Cermin District is divided into 5 classes, namely non-vegetation, rare, moderate, dense and high dense. All land cover classes have different density classes.
