This thesis is motivated by the social movement of the community in
Janji Maria village, where the indigenous people in Janji Maria village carried
out a resistance movement against TPL. The Janji Maria community objected
to the claiming of customary land in the village of Janji Maria, customary land
which was a legacy of their ancestors and a source of their livelihood was
claimed and managed by TPL, the community in the village of Janji Maria
formed the TPL Close Alliance Movement as a form of their rejection of TPL,
through the Close TPL Movement Alliance the Janji Maria community carried
out several forms of resistance movements such as demonstrations, making
petitions, meeting the government and others, the community felt that the
presence of TPL in the village of Janji Maria was bad for the community and
the survival of the community. This thesis aims to find out the forms of social
movements carried out by the people of Janji Maria against TPL. This
research uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is research that aims to
facts and events systematically and accurately and analyses the truth based on
data obtained in the field. Data collection techniques in this research are
interview techniques and literature study research.
