dc.description.abstract | The title raised in this research is the Meaning of Fengshui Belief for Non- Chinese Communities in Medan City. Fengshui is an ancient Chinese belief system that emphasizes the importance of creating balance and harmony in the physical environment to support spiritual and material well-being. This belief has spread around the world, crossing the boundaries of its native culture, and has become a global phenomenon that attracts people from various cultural and religious backgrounds.
The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, by interviewing 7 informants with diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds. The data refers to Max Weber's Social Action theory to explain the pattern of human social action in interpreting the new culture in the lives of non-Chinese ethnic communities. In this study, the diversity of views and ways of interpreting Fengshui from religious, cultural and age backgrounds was obtained. The differences and similarities in the way of interpreting culture in the older and younger generations of society further explain the differences in social action in recognizing culture can produce different meanings in the end result of these actions. | en_US |
