| dc.description.abstract | This research is entitled“Representation of Feminism in Film Barbie”. Film is a form of mass communication media that is very popular throughout the world. The delivery of messages and impressions that are so inherent in a film makes films widely used as a tool for conveying messages to the public. Barbie 2023 is a fantasy comedy film that will be broadcast in 2023 which depicts feminism for women. This film shows women fighting for their rights and this drama also shows the inequality and injustice for women carried out by men which leads to feminism. The aim of this research is to determine the representation of feminism in films Barbie 2023. To achieve the objectives of this research, researchers used a qualitative approach with John Fiske's semiotic analysis based on television codes which are divided into three levels, namely the reality level, the representation level and the ideology level. The results of this research show that there are feminist values at the reality level through codes of behavior, expression and voice, clothing and the environment. At the representation level, feminist values are demonstrated through shooting techniques (camera), conversation/dialogue, music, and so onSetting.
