dc.description.abstract | This article is entitled Strategies of Toba Batak Students in Facing the Quarter Life Crisis Phenomenon at the Faculty of Law, HKBP Nommensen University. The aim of this research is to explain the causes of Toba Batak students at the Faculty of Law, HKBP Nommensen University experiencing the quarter life crisis phenomenon and the strategies used by students to survive this situation.
The method used in this research is a qualitative method which aims to obtain comprehensive results regarding the conditions that occur in the field regarding the causes of students experiencing the quarter life crisis phenomenon along with students' responses when they are in this situation as well as finding a link between the values applied in the parenting patterns of Batak parents. Toba with the cause of this phenomenon. The data sources for this article come from observations, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies.
This research discusses the existence of values in the Toba Batak tribe, namely the values of hamoraon, hagabeon, and hasangapon which can cause a quarter life crisis phenomenon experienced by Toba Batak students at HKBP Nommensen University. The values of hamoraon, hagabeon, hasangapon are demands of Toba Batak parents for their children, where these values, in the opinion of several Toba Batak students, are considered to be inefficient to apply nowadays
The results of this research show that there are differences in strategies between female and male Batak Toba students in dealing with this phenomenon. Some students who are in this condition choose to wait until they are free from it or get used to it because they don't know the right way to escape the quarter life crisis phenomenon, but several other students have also implemented various strategies to escape this phenomenon. Toba Batak students at the Faculty of Law, HKBP Nommensen University admit that there are still Toba Batak values applied to their families and most students are used to the values applied in their families even though in some situations it can cause discomfort for them. | en_US |
