dc.description.abstractThis paper is written at the Library and Archive Office of North Sumatra Province. The purpose of this writing is to understand how the storage system and retrieval procedures of active dynamic archives work in providing information according to the needs of the community in the city of Medan. Data collection methods include literature study, observation, interviews. and documentation. This research aims to reveal the phenomena that occur in the field: how effective active dynamic archives are at the Library and Archive Office of North Sumatra Province. The results show that active dynamic archives are still stored using lists with the assistance of the Microsoft Excel computer application. The retrieval procedures for active dynamic archives still involve manual processing systems and use classification code numbers as references in retrieving archives. The effectiveness of the active dynamic archive retrieval system results in an average time of 1.9 minutes needed to retrieve each file.en_US
