A Description of Raja Parhata in Wedding Ceremony Batak Toba

Abstract

The definition of culture that has been put forward includes a very deep meaning wide. Another comprehensive yet concise definition was put forward by (Malinowski (1988)) stated that culture as ''the amount of goods, rights and obligations, ideas, beliefs, abilities, and customs. In this study, the authors used Observation research methods, interviews, library studiesAfter describing Raja Parhata the author can conclude that there are 3 reasons why Raja Parhata is important in traditional Batak wedding ceremonies, namely: 1. Marhata sinamot, 2. Martonggo raja, 3. Became the leader of the Toba Batak wedding ceremony. The author describes the Role and functions of Raja Parhata in the wedding ceremony of Batak Toba
