The Government carries out various development programs to improve the welfare
of its people. One measure of development success is the Human Development
Index (HDI). Indonesia’s Human Development Index (HDI) is number 114 out of
191 countries in the world. The HDI of North Sumatera is no 15 out of 34 provincies
and the HDI of Humbang Hasundutan Regency is no 22 out of 33 regencies/cities
in North Sumatera. There are many factors that influence the development of the
HDI value. This thesis analize the influence of factors that assumed to influence the
HDI value, namely the number of health workforce, the number of educational
infastructure and non-food percapita expenditure using multiple linear regression
with SPSS 26. The research uses time series data 2005-2022 (18 years). The result
of the research explains that the number of health workforce and the number of
educational infrastructures have an effect on the HDI value, while non-food
percapita expenditure has no effect.
