    Abstract
This research aims to examine the effect of capital adequacy ratio (CAR), loan to deposit (LDR), operating expenses on operating income (BOPO), inflation and SBI interest rates on non-performing loans (NPL) in commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with an observation period of 2020-2022. The sampling method is a saturated sample method so that the total sample is 42 companies using a documentary data collection method. By using multiple linear regression analysis, the results of this study show that partially CAR and LDR have a significant positive effect on NPL, inflation has a significant negative effect on NPL, BOPO and SBI interest rates do not have a significant effect on NPL. Furthermore, the results of this research show that CAR, LDR, BOPO, inflation and SBI interest rates simultaneously influence NPL.
