Abstract

People should love the history of their nation, be curious and visit places related to historical heritage, one of which is museums. The sophistication of technology means that people can find out anything from social media without visiting the actual place and the lack of attraction presented by the management makes people less interested in visiting museums. The management's role is to develop the museum as an interesting and useful educational tour. This writing aims to determine the role of the North Sumatra Provincial State Museum as a tourist destination in the city of Medan, the role of the manager and the factors that constrain its promotion. The writing method is by compiling theoretically from scientific books and direct observation. The theory used is related to the title. The result of this writing is to find out the role of the North Sumatra Provincial State Museum as a tourist destination in Medan City, to find out the things that attract the North Sumatra State Museum as a public tourist attraction in Medan City.
