| dc.description.abstract | This research aims to describe how a secretary's professional ethics are able to maintain and improve his performance so that he can continue to assist the North Sumatra Province DPRD leadership in carrying out their duties. This research was conducted on the secretary of the North Sumatra Province DPRD council. So this research uses primary and secondary data, namely interviews with the secretary of the North Sumatra Province DPRD. The results of the research show that the professional ethics of secretaries at the DPRD Office of North Sumatra Province are good. Judging from how the board secretary completes the tasks given by the leadership, the board secretary can complete it well and on time because they help each other and the board secretary can work professionally. This can be seen from the punctuality in meeting working hours, the board secretary quite well in carrying it out, this can be seen from the secretary's arrival at the set entry, break and exit times. Ethical standards for the Secretary of the DPRD Council of North Sumatra Province must be able to demonstrate his ethics as a secretary through loyal, responsible, polite, honest and dedicated traits.
