    Abstract
Posture is one of the common etiologies of malocclusion. Postural analysis is very influential in the diagnosis of malocclusion. Standardized orthodontic examination forms have not been seen to assess posture, although many studies have explained the relationship between posture and malocclusion. It is necessary to study orthodontists' perceptions of the relationship between malocclusion and posture. Orthodontists' perceptions were chosen as a research question because of the important role they play in the healthcare system. Differences in perception can be influenced by different levels of knowledge and experience. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of Indonesian orthodontists about the relationship between malocclusion and posture based on gender and duration of practice as orthodontist. This type of research is descriptive analytic research with a cross-sectional design and sampling technique in the form of simple random sampling. The sample of this study was 214 orthodontists who were registered as active members of the Indonesian Association of Orthodontist. In this study, orthodontists' perceptions were assessed using a google form questionnaire specifically designed to determine the sample's perception of the relationship between malocclusion and posture and had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the MANOVA test showed that gender (p = 0.019) and duration of practice as orthodontist (p = 0.003) have significant influence on the perception of Indonesian orthodontists about the relationship between malocclusion and posture. Indonesian orthodontists generally agree that there is a relationship between malocclusion and posture.
