    Abstract
Remineralization is the process of returning lost minerals to teeth damaged due to the demineralization process. Barangan banana peels contain calcium and phosphorus which are needed to remineralize teeth. The aim of this study was to compare changes in the depth of enamel lesionsbovine after the application of extract paste and banana peel powder paste (Musa acuminata L.) 2% as a remineralization agent. The sample used was incisor tooth enamel from bovine which was soaked in demineralization solution for 96 hours. The sample size for each group was 6 with 4 treatment groups, namely, group I (Barangan banana peel extract paste 2%), group II (Barangan banana peel powder paste 2%), group III (CPP-ACP), and group IV (paste without remineralizing agents). Banana peel extract is obtained from the extraction process using the maceration method. Banana peel powder is obtained through a process ball milling at a speed of 800 rpm for 1 hour. Extract paste and Barangan banana peel powder paste are obtained from mixing CMC-Na, nipagin, glycerin, propylene glycol, Barangan banana peel powder (powder paste), Barangan banana peel extract (extract paste) and distilled water. Results of mean changes in enamel lesion depth bovine in groups I, II, III, and IV it was 90.86 ± 51.48 μm; 75.25 ± 56.56 μm; 111.65 ± 37.54 μm; and 16.56 ± 12.06 μm. Based on Test one-way Anova and after this LSD, significant differences (p<0.05) were only found in groups I, II, and III compared to group IV. It can be concluded that there is no difference in changes in the depth of enamel lesions bovine after the application of extract paste and banana peel powder paste (Musa acuminata L.) 2% as a remineralization agent.
