Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood sugar levels or hyperglycemia caused by insulin abnormalities, insulin resistance, or both. Diabetes mellitus is a disease with high prevalence in Indonesia. Periodontitis is one of the oral diseases that can occur in all age groups and most commonly occurs in adults worldwide. The purpose of this study is to assess the periodontal status of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with periodontitis at the UPTD Puskesmas Tiga Dolok, with a focus on pocket depth and clinical attachment loss. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design involving 42 samples. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that the mean pocket depth was 4 mm and the mean clinical attachment loss was 5 mm. The conclusion of this study is that the periodontal status of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with periodontitis at the UPTD Puskesmas Tiga Dolok, as assessed by pocket depth, falls into the mild category, while clinical attachment loss falls into the severe category.
