Pengaruh Penambahan Nanosilika Abu Cangkang Kelapa Sawit pada Bahan Basis Gigi Tiruan Resin Akrilik Polimerisasi Panas terhadap Modulus Elastisitas
Effect of Addition of Palm Shell Ash Nanosilica to Denture Base Material Heat Cured Acrylic Resin on Elastic Modulus
Abstract
The commonly used denture base material is heat cured acrylic resin. The disadvantage of this material is that it breaks easily because it has a low elastic modulus. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of adding palm shell ash nanosilica at concentrations of 2%, 5% and 6% to heat cured acrylic resin denture base materials on the elastic modulus. This research was carried out on samples without and with the addition of palm kernel shell ash nanosilica at concentrations of 2%, 5% and 6%. There were 24 samples measuring 65×10×2.5 mm. Value analysis using the univariate test to determine mean value and standard deviation, one-way ANOVA test to determine the effect, and the LSD test to determine significant differences. The results of this study showed that the mean value and standard deviation of the control group was 2022.73 ± 479.89 MPa, the 2% concentration group was 2261.46 ± 505.76 MPa, the 5% concentration group was 3262.06 ± 435.71 MPa, and the 6% concentration group was 2706.56 ± 617.24 MPa. There is a significant effect with a value of p = 0.005. There were significant differences between the control group and the 5% and 6% concentration groups with a value of p=0.001 and p=0.044, and the 2% concentration group with a 5% concentration with a value of p=0.005. From the results, it is known that the denture base material with the addition of palm shell ash nanosilica at a concentration of 5% has the highest value compared to that without and with the addition of a concentration of 2% and 6%.
